Positive psychology is a new discipline which is vastly becoming very popular throughout the United States. Although this non traditional approach may have Sigmund Freud turning over in his grave, there are some very helpful tips and techniques that everyone can benefit from. This is because instead of focusing on the problems that people have and how they can deal with them, which traditional psychology is known for, this discipline focuses more on proactive steps and finds the inner strengths of the individual and how they can prosper using their own abilities to live life to the fullest.
积极心理学作为新兴的一门学科正风行全美国。尽管它非传统的研究方法可能会让西格蒙德•弗洛伊德在坟墓中不得安宁,但的确,积极心理学中含有一些有帮助的忠告和技术,让人从中受益。这是因为不同于以往传统心理学总是关注于人的问题和问题发生后的解决办法,积极心理学更关注于人的积极方面,并通过发现内心的力量和这些力量如何帮助人最大限地发挥自己的能力,来使自己活得最为充实。
Traditional Psychology 传统心理学
Now there is nothing wrong with the good old psychological approach, in fact many of these approaches have been the most widely used forms of therapies and has for many years helped many people. Traditional Psychology approach stems from defining the problem and then finding ways to treat the problem using various techniques. Often this discipline looks at the past, present and future behaviors of the individual and focuses more on any traumatic events that may have occurred during the individuals life, and how these event(s) have contributed to the overall functioning of the individual.
其实很多传统心理学治疗法都是很好的,这些方法已经使用了多年,至今仍是最为广泛使用的治疗办法,救助了很多人。传统心理治疗的方法本质上说就是发现并确认问题所在,然后通过各种各样的技术来治愈和解决问题。通常地,传统心理学疗法会观察个人过去,现在和将来的行为,更关注于某个时间造成病人精神创伤的事件,以及这些因素对个人机体功能的整体影响。
Positive Psychology 积极心理学
The reason why Positive Psychology is somewhat fascinating is because instead of focusing on the problems people may have, it looks more at what the person can do to better themselves and thrive as a superior functioning individual. This eccentric approach is very closely linked to the “laws of attraction” theories and how one who thinks in a more positive manner and believes strongly in their own capabilities can actually create positive energy that increases the likelihood that good things will happen to them.
积极心理学的魅力就在于它并不是关注于人的疾病或问题,而是更多地关注个人如何能做的更好,将个人的技能发挥的能出色。这种与众不同的方法非常符合“吸引法则”,而且实际上越是抱有积极态度并坚信自己能力的人,就越能创造出积极的能量,而好事发生在他们身上的几率也越大。
Self Esteem and it’s Effect on an Individual’s Ability to Function in Society

It all stems down to how a person feels about themselves in a sense because if a person has a great amount of confidence they will excel at basically any task they take on. In contrast, if a person is more insecure then self doubt can create a world of havoc on their view of the world, as well as their abilities to contribute to society as a whole.

Of course everyone deals with their own problems in their own unique ways, but learning how to effectively cope with negativity is a lesson that not too many people have been able to master. That is why there are so many self help books available.

Endorphins and their Effect on Moods 内啡肽及对情绪的影响
According to Edmund J. Borne, author of The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook, studies have shown that by thinking positively there is actually a physical response that occurs within the body that influences the amount of endorphins released. Endorphins are feel good chemicals that are released during times of happiness and contentment. So this makes sense that thinking positively will have a profound effect on not only the the way one feels emotionally, but physically as well.

Positive Psychology is a very interesting field of study indeed and will have much more progress in the years ahead. It would be interesting to see the different type of therapies that this discipline offers, and how effective these therapies are when compared to other therapies in the traditional field of psychology.
积极心理学的确是很有趣的一块研究领域,而且在几年时间里肯定会有长足发展。看到这一领域将出现更多不同的治疗方法,以及这些疗法与传统心理学治疗办法相比的独特疗效,这将非常有趣。
